'A lone ranger' did he say?

Not being content with the fact that the Nationalist government - aided and abetted by the EU Commission and a myriad of movements, organisations, and the English language papers - succeeded in getting a slight majority of voters to vote for EU membership, both I.M. Beck and Stefano Mallia of The European Movement (September 6) still cannot stomach the fact that there could still be people who are not ready to be gagged from speaking out against that "rotten" treaty which the prime minister signed in Athens on April 16.
Their main "whipping boy" is Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici, because he still dares to reveal what the PN government would have preferred to be kept hidden and undiscussed in "that rotten packet", as Joe Brincat had described the accession treaty.
Instead of turning on Dr Mifsud Bonnici, the two writers should now concentrate on informing readers how and when those supposed and eagerly longed for "EU benefits", will be arriving as promised.
Both I.M. Beck and Mr Mallia should realise - if, as I believe they do, they read British newspapers - that many millions of people all over the EU countries are disillusioned about their country's EU membership.
While the PN government, the EU Commission, particularly Commissioner Günter Verheugen, the Group of European Socialist Parties and the local English language newspapers, have succeeded in convincing Labour speakers to "shut up" on matters concerning the negative aspects of EU membership, I am certain that they will never succeed to gag Dr Mifsud Bonnici and his Labour and Nationalist colleagues at CNI who have also the backing of a good part of those 48 per cent who voted against EU membership.
In time, as more and more "rotten deals" contained in that "rotten treaty" are brought to light, many more thousands will come around to agreeing with Dr Mifsud Bonnici and CNI.
But was Dr Mifsud Bonnici not described by Mr Mallia as "A lone ranger"?
