As many people know, Fr Mark Montebello is going to be investigated by the Dominican Order in Rome, as suggested by the Curia, for the "opinions" he expressed on certain issues. I am proud to say that I am one of the many people who have signed the petition in favour of Fr Mark, started by Michael Grech, that will be sent to all local newspapers and also to the Dominican Order in Rome.

Had this case happened a few years ago, I probably would not have bothered to take notice because I didn't really agree with most of the things he said. However, God moves in strange ways. After many years of not going to church, he managed to make me attend a Sunday Mass, along with my wife, which he celebrated.

Since that day, we have never missed a single Sunday Mass again and our life has totally changed, like a miracle. Thanks to Fr Mark, we managed to find the peace we were looking for and most importantly, we invited God in our lives again.

I would like to invite all those people who have doubts about whether Fr Mark should stay on as a priest, including those who are investigating him, to come to the Sunday Mass at noon at the Fatima Church in Pietà and experience the incredible faith and love that he has towards God. The way he celebrates the Mass is unique; it makes you feel at ease and wanting it to never end. And most of all, the Mass that he celebrates is never boring.

For my wife and I, Fr Mark was our healer - he helped us rediscover God and he is also our teacher, who, every Sunday helps us better understand God.

As he says during his Mass, every Sunday we go to the School of Jesus Christ.

Our wish is that he will continue to be there to guide us how to keep God in our hearts every day.

Fr Mark helps so many people in need - and now he needs our help. If readers would like to sign the petition, please send an e-mail to Mr Grech on mmg752001 @gmail.com.

While thanking Mr Grech for the opportunity he gave us to sign this petition in favour of the unique and extraordinary Fr Mark, we really hope that the people who investigate him will realise that every person has a different opinion and that if that opinion is different from theirs, it doesn't mean that he's against them!

Fr Mark - you're always in our prayers.
