My wife, whose father was born in Malta, and I love Malta. We're here for our second visit in the last four years. My question is this: Why do so many Maltese feel that the United States got what it deserved on 9/11?
Our people, including the government, are very generous with most of the nations of the world including monumental undertakings such as the Marshall Plan after WWII, the rebuilding of much of Europe and Japan and many other generous activities worldwide including those in Malta.
We as a nation have not asked for nor desired any territories as payment for our efforts and only wish to live in peace. The United Nations has undoubtedly drifted to the unconscionable level of the ineffective League of Nations after WWI and should be abandoned. We are still the most sought after haven for many people in the world looking for an opportunity to live and thrive in freedom.
We understand the terrorists don't want our land, our money, or our homes; they just want us dead! What would the Maltese have us do? I find it almost unimaginable how anyone, aside from terrorists, could wish us ill-will. I would welcome any correspondence regarding my question.
