A very loud silence - indeed too loud

Re: Purchase of pram/pushchair/car seat

Kindly note that on November 9, 2002 my wife and I went to your Guardamangia outlet for a quotation of the above. We were given a quotation for the old stock (Quotation No. 005458Q) amounting to Lm196.50 and a quotation for the current stock (Quotation No. 005457Q) amounting to Lm211.22 (copy enclosed). After evaluating both offers we decided to purchase the current stock.

Hence on November 15 we went to purchase the items. However we were told to call again a week later. In the meantime we ordered the said items.

On November 21 we went again. We collected the goods and we were asked to pay Lm225.52. At that point I deduced that I was not given a discount as shown on quotation No. 005457Q. Hence I was given a 10% discount and paid Lm202.96 (i.e. Lm225.52 less 10%) ...

However I have still been overcharged as follows:

Total as per quotation without discounts Lm248.50

Less items not required

BC Bag Lm18

BC Calypso Safety Kit Lm14

Sub Total Lm216.50

Less 10% Lm 21.65

Less Cash & Carry Discount Lm 10.83

TOTAL Lm184.02

Hence I was overcharged Lm18.94 and I hope I will be given a refund.

On December 3 we asked Muscat's Universal Ltd, Babyline, Hospital Street Guardamangia, for their side of the case, but got no reply. On January 14 we sent them a reminder, including a copy of Mr Vella's letter, asking for their comments, still to no avail. On January 27 Mr Vella sent Muscat's Universal Ltd a copy of his letter as another reminder, still to no avail.

Still, in the absence of any response from Muscat's Universal Ltd, we sent them another request for their comments, to no avail. On March 25, we sent them another reminder and yet another one on May 6, still to no avail.

I find it highly disturbing to note such a "couldn't care less" attitude.

In any case, Muscat's Universal Ltd. are still invited to give us their side of the case.
