I wish to congratulate your TV columnist Tanja Cilia for her incessant harping on the correct Maltese language which should be used during local TV and radio programmes. She is certainly a very determined lady and does well not to give up. Maybe if she starts naming the culprits, these untrained presenters may start to mind their language.

They never seem to care. The various heads of programmes don't seem to read such constructive criticism to improve their station. They don't seem to ever watch or listen in to these programmes, even those which pull the greatest numbers of viewers and listeners. Is then Tanja's a voice in the wilderness?

If so, the Broadcasting Authority (if it is still there!) should step in and fulfil one of its obligations. The paying public in general and our easily-influenced children do not deserve any more of this indifferent attitude on the part of such presenters, their hotchpotch language and their mediocre-to-hopeless presentation.
