A group of around 20 people recently participated in the Interwetten Ability Challenge in Slovakia.
Activities at the event included rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, trekking, caving and paragliding.
Participants at the challenge have various levels of physical ability and disability, including Spina Bifida, Polio, hearing loss and lower limb amputation.
The event aims to create public awareness on the abilities of individuals with a physical disability. The Interwetten Ability Challenge also creates the opportunity for a group of people to strive together as a team regardless of physical ability.
“The activity also serves to open up a new perspective on disability, showing the individual behind each mental or physical impairment and turning into a self-development experience for the able-bodied” said Inspire head of services Lidwina Schembri Wismayer.
