An exhibition of contemporary works of arts and paintings by Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci entitled My Aboriginal Roots and Dreamings was inaugurated by the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Francis Zammit Dimech in the Cottoner Hall of the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta.

Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci completed his art studies in Milan, studied art in Moscow under V. Moroz and icon art under H.N. Ovchinnikov. He is a painter of modern art, icon and fresco. He has also extensive experience as a theatre director and set designer in a number of countries. Schembri Bonaci exhibited his artistic works in Malta, Australia, Italy, France, Germany and Russia.

Dr Zammit Dimech said that a number of exhibitions of Maltese artists which were inaugurated recently indicate that local artists are not only exhibiting their works of art locally but spreading their artistic works to foreign countries. This augured well for Maltese arts and for the country.
