A Zabbar man was yesterday charged with breaking into seven cars at the Floriana car park over the past six weeks.
Eman Zammit, 22, pleaded guilty to stealing:
¤ an Alpine car stereo and other items to the detriment of Simone Mercieca on July 3 at about 5.45 p.m.
¤ a Kenwood car stereo to the detriment of Sharon Desira on June 13 at about 12.15 p.m.
¤ a bag containing several items to the detriment of Lilly Corsi on July 22 at about 4 p.m.
¤ a Pioneer car stereo and other items to the detriment of Claire Caprio on July 24 at about 2.20 p.m.
¤ a car stereo to the detriment of Kasseb Raid on July 25 at about 11.50 a.m.
¤ a car stereo to the detriment of Nathalie Cachia on July 26 at about 2 p.m., and
¤ a car stereo and other items to the detriment of Shirley Scalpello on July 27 at about 10.15 a.m.
Zammit also pleaded guilty to causing less than Lm50 damage to each car.
The case was put off for submissions on punishment.
Meanwhile, Zammit was granted bail againt a Lm250 deposit and a personal guarantee of Lm1,000.
Police Inspector Carmelo Magri prosecuted.
Dr Franco Debono appeared for Zammit.
