Roderick Farrugia, 23, of Sta Lucia was yesterday remanded in custody after being charged with violently resisting the police, uttering foul language and breaching public peace on Wednesday.

Police Inspector Pierre Grech said that during a drugs search, the accused turned violent and even when handcuffed he started banging on a police car.

Dr Martin Fenech appeared for Farrugia.
