Police took special precautions, mounting a roadblock some distance away from the stadium, where the activists were stopped.

The activists flew Palestinian flags and shouted slogans against Israel and genocide in Gaza. They called for a free Palestine and an end to Israeli occupation. One placard called for Israeli football teams to be banned from international matches.

A large Palestinian flag was also draped over the Senglea bastions and was visible from Corradino.
