Alternattiva Demokratika has presented its proposals for the Iklin local council, during a press conference held in Iklin's town square.

Franco Pisani, who works as a printer, will be contesting the Iklin local election on the party's behalf.

"The local council should work for the introduction of a day care centre for young children in Iklin," Mr Pisani said. "This will improve the quality of life of families in which both parents are economically active. "In its manifesto AD is proposing cooperation between local councils, the central government and the private sector to make this possible," he said.

Another proposal is the development of a town centre so that all social, cultural and commercial activities would be concentrated in the centre of the locality.

Mr Pisani added: "Communication between the Iklin local council and residents must be drastically improved. The residents need to be well informed about what's going on and this will increase participation and transparency."
