Alternattiva Demokratika this afternoon urged the government to launch the process for the revision of the Constitution for this to be a really inclusive one.
As he welcomed the setting up of the Committee for awareness about the Maltese Constitution, AD chairman Arnold Cassol, said it would have been wiser for the Constitution Convention to be set up as a first step.
This was promised by the government in its electoral manifesto to implement the much needed constitutional reforms in our country.
If the Convention was not immediately set up, the country would be spending hundreds of thousands of euros, if not millions, to publish informative material about the present constitution, when this could be substantially revised and updated according to current needs.
