The agriculture ministry will tomorrow be available by telephone to answer queries from the public and the farming community relating to animal health and veterinary public health.

The telephone link is being set up by the minister`s Food and Veterinary Division to mark World Veterinary Day tomorrow.

The ministry can be contacted on 21 225363 between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. tomorrow.

The Malta Veterinary Association has also organised free check-ups for dogs and cats tomorrow morning between 10 a.m. and noon.

As some small animal private clinics run routine surgery service in the mornings, it is advisable for the public to check the time of the free check-up with individual clinics.

The free check-up service is being extended to welfare groups on request.

World Veterinary Day has been designated by the World Veterinary Association and the Office International Epizooties (World Organisation for Animal Health).
