Afro Promotions, in conjunction with the St Paul's Bay local council, are planning a big outdoor festival of African dance in July.

The event will also showcase African crafts, hairbraiding and other aspects of African culture and food.

The festival will be held at Ta' Fra Ben, in Qawra from July 16 to 18 from 11 a.m. until late in the evening.

Kennedy Richard, of Afro Promotions, said the festival was held for the first time in 1998 and last year it was decided to establish it as an annual event.

Entrance is free.

Mr Richard said Afro Promotions was seeking some good traditional dancers to take part in the festival.
