An agreement has been reached in a libel case instituted by the former chief executive officer of the Broadcasting Authority, Antoine Ellul, against another former CEO in his capacity as owner and broadcaster of the radio station Live FM, Joe Grima. The matter was sparked off by a live broadcast in May 1995 on Live FM at a time when Grima Communications Ltd was awaiting the issue of a TV licence it had applied for in 1993.

Mr Grima said yesterday he acknowledged that the remarks made during the broadcast with regard to Mr Ellul were unfounded and undeserved.

Mr Grima said he had worked for several years with Mr Ellul and knew him to be diligent and honest in his work.
