A partnership agreement was recently signed in Houston, Texas, between ISTC (Malta) and Texas Engineering Extension Service - Emergency Services TEEX, of the US.
This strategic alliance will firmly establish Malta as a centre of excellence in the provision of specialised training in fire, safety and security in the Mediterranean and African regions.
The scope of this partnership combines the synergies of the two organisations creating a hub for specialised training at the centre of the Mediterranean.
The main aims are to create a wider range and higher level of academic and vocational training for ISTC's existing customers, while also facilitating access to TEEX's technical training and certification programmes to delegates from companies operating in Africa.
This alliance was possible thanks to the support of the American Ambassador, Molly Bordanaro.
TEEX is a leading institute of excellence in chemical and petrochemical, industrial, rural, urban, maritime and aviation fire fighting; search and rescue; emergency response; security; management of major emergencies; occupational health and safety; and a variety of related and ancillary disciplines.
TEEX is a component of Texas A&M University, which trains over 100,000 international delegates every year. ISTC is a subsidiary of the Alberta Group - Malta.
