The Union Haddiema Maghqudin (UHM) said yesterday an agreement was reached with the Curia over counter proposals for a collective agreement covering workers at Church homes for the elderly.
The union complained last month that the Curia had not submitted its counter proposals about the financial aspect of the collective agreement for the employees in question. It had also threatened industrial action unless the issue was resolved.
The secretary of the UHM's health services section, John M. Briffa, said a meeting was held between the two parties to discuss the issue. It was agreed that the Curia should submit concrete proposals next month.
