An agreement has been reached between the Health Ministry and the Union Haddiema Maghqudin over a number of pending issues.

Some of the issues were the result of a collective agreement signed in 2012 and memoranda of understandings signed in early 2013, the government said.

It said that, through the agreement, the union’s members will enjoy better conditions and the implementation of what had been agreed in the sectoral agreement of allied health practitioners and other allied health categories, dental surgery assistants, pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, managers, health inspectors and Foundation of Medical Services clerks and other categories.

The government said the union and the ministry were to continue to work together towards the implementation of what was agreed upon. It was also agreed that negotiations on the agreement of dentists, which had been pending for a number of years, would be embarked upon.
