None of the passengers and crew on an Air Malta Boeing 737-300 were injured in a minor incident that happened after the aircraft had a normal landing at Prague's Ruzyne airport yesterday morning, Air Malta said.

The aircraft was being assisted by an airport vehicle when it went slightly off the taxiway, Air Malta said.

The Air Malta flight, KM2536, left from Malta an hour late due to bad weather conditions at Prague's airport.

After departure, the flight captain was informed that Prague's airport had to be closed down due to weather conditions.

The captain had to divert the aircraft towards Dresden but was later informed that Prague's airport had re-opened.

The aircraft landed safely at Prague airport after the runway was cleared of snow and ice, Air Malta said.

But when the Boeing was being assisted by the airport "follow-me-vehicle" due to the weather conditions, it veered off the taxiway

The passengers disembarked from the aircraft and were transferred to the terminal. Checks were carried out on the aircraft which was certified fit to return with the Malta-bound passengers.

In fact, Air Malta said, the aircraft was flown by the same crew back to Malta's International Airport in the afternoon.

Air Malta's representatives in Prague gave the necessary assistance to passengers to minimise any possible inconvenience, it said.
