The letter Do The Maltese Colours Need To Fly? by David Youngman (November 23) was brilliant and sums up totally everything wrong with Air Malta and the way it is run. I concur completely with the points he raised.
The management of Air Malta is top heavy, there being too many chiefs and not enough Indians. There is too much interference by successive governments, be it Labour or Nationalist. Cost-cutting exercises over recent years by the airline, like meals of a lower standard etc., are certainly not the answer to its problems .
I am not sure whether it is feasible for the airline to go public but this could be the answer and might end the airlines’ woes.
