Air Malta yesterday launched a new website to speed up communications between the airline and its customers.

Launched during a press conference at Bay Street, Air Malta group manager Joe Capello said the website, www.airmalta.com, has been redesigned in a way to make it easy to navigate.

Local and overseas customers can book a flight, pay via credit card, and give the client a choice from where to collect the ticket.

Customers may also search through the interactive flight schedule, where one can check Air Malta's schedule of flights as well as the helicopter services between the two islands.

An on-line Flyaway brochure gives users the chance to book packages to any of the seven most popular destinations, together with any special offers.

It also boasts a link with Air Malta Flydrive partner, which gives customers the possibility to book and hire a car online when travelling with Air Malta.

Other facilities include the possibility to track cargo through a tracking system and a service which enables passengers to trace misplaced luggage.

The site has links with Malta Direct, one of Air Malta's subsidiaries, the Malta Tourism Authority's website, and Air Malta Virtual, where aircraft enthusiasts can download a flight simulation game.

Air Malta's new site will also be promoted during the upcoming IT fair to be held between October 16 and 20 at the Trade Fair grounds, Naxxar.
