PN deputy leader Alex Perici Calascione to run for election on ninth district

PN now has 25 approved candidates

PN's deputy leader Alex Perici Calascione, will be running for election in the ninth district after the party approved four candidates on Thursday.  

Perici Calascione had contested but failed to get elected in 2022 and had run for party leader in 2017. 

The other approved candidates are Annabelle Cilia, who will run in the sixth district and Paul Mazzola and Anton Mifsud, who will run in the seventh.

Cilia, who currently serves as president of the Moviment Solidarjetà Ħaddiema Partit Nazzjonalista, will be contesting a general election for the first time.

Mazzola had contested the general election in 2017 and currently serves as a Żebbuġ councillor.

Mifsud had already contested the 2022 general election. He is the former mayor of Imtarfa and a current councillor. He also previously served as president of the northern region.

The total number of approved PN candidates has now reached 25.

The PN said in a statement that the team includes "new faces, experienced candidates who previously contested with the PN, women, young people, as well as a number of candidates from Gozo".
