Siblings of persons with disability have their own special needs too, and these are seen to in the July issue of Pink, out with The Sunday Times of Malta tomorrow, through candid talks with sisters who have suffered silently until they were given a voice.

They open up about their participation in an Agenzija Sapport initiative that focused on their own issues – and not just those of the parents and carers of persons with disability.

The July issue of Malta’s magazine for women also features an insightful and introspective account of life with an alcoholic: the hiding of the problem and the ignoring until there was nowhere left to turn.

The article is a first-hand account of trying to love someone on the days they are sober, with the dread of the inevitable relapse constantly looming; and the pain of watching someone kill themselves, one bottle at a time.

The importance of seeking out a licensed tattoo parlour and the dangers of not doing so are also highlighted in the summer issue, while health is also tackled in a feature about having a good gut and the repercussions of this on physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Malta’s leading fashion magazine shines a light on white – the colour of the season to beat the heat and keep things cool – while culture, cars and other health issues pack the magazine for a leisurely, all-round read.

The monthly magazine is an Allied Newspapers publication.
