Alter Domus – a provider of fund and corporate services dedicated to international private equity and infrastructure houses, real estate firms, multinationals, private clients and private debt managers – has recruited Raffaella Busuttil as a director to take on the role of local head of operations and Steve Cuschieri as a corporate services senior manager. It has also promoted Andrea Debattista and Mariestell Dalli to senior managers.
Ms Busuttil started her career with the Bank of Valletta group, after which she was appointed as head finance of the Valletta Fund Management (VFM) Ltd. She retained the role of head of finance for BOV Fund Services when this company was spun out of VFM and has gained significant experience in operations, setting up processes and in leading teams during the 16 years she led the Finance Division. Following this experience, Ms Busuttil took on the position of CFO with a large, local, public listed company.
She is a qualified accountant holding a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy (Hons) together with a Master’s in Financial Services from the University of Malta.
Mr Cuschieri has over 10 years’ experience working with trust and corporate services firms, during which he held the role of senior manager with both operational and customer relationship management responsibilities. In this role, he was also involved in a number of committees and played a central role in a takeover. During his career, he has had extensive exposure to international clients, including multinationals.

At Alter Domus, Mr Cuschieri will be responsible for a number of international clients within various industries.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance (Hons) from the University of Malta and a Master’s in Business Administration specialising in Finance from the Grenoble Graduate School of Business.
Mr Debattista, who has been promoted to corporate services senior manager, leads the shipping and aviation initiatives within the Malta office and also manages a portfolio of clients across segments such as private equity, corporates and high-net-worth individuals. He also plays an active role within the business development function for the Malta office.
Mr Debattista is a certified public accountant and his qualifications include ACCA and a B.Com. (Melit.) (Hons) from the University of Malta. He is also a member of the Malta Institute of Accountants.
Ms Dalli, who joined Alter Domus in 2016, is currently leading the consolidation team while also working on international client projects. She is a qualified accountant, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy (Hons) from the University of Malta. She also obtained a professional certificate in taxation and a foundation certificate in Trusts Law and Management and an IFRS Diploma. She is also a member of the Malta Institute of Accountants.
