AN calls for inquiry

Azzjoni Nazzjonali is calling for an inquiry into the way Mepa processed the application for the modernisation of the recycling plant in Marsascala.

AN leader Josie Muscat said yesterday that the report by the Mepa auditor on the issue showed that that the process had not been transparent and was full of abuses.

He accused the Nationalist Party and the Labour Party, which both had representatives on Mepa's board, of failing to take the necessary action to uncover the alleged mishandling of this application.

Dr Muscat promised that if his party were represented in Parliament, AN would ensure a proper inquiry was carried out and those found guilty of any wrongdoing would be held responsible.
