Azzjoni Nazzjonali today called for a gradual reduction of tax on business and insisted that any tax investigations should not go back more than two years.
Party spokesman Charles Attard said VAT on restaurant services needed to be reduced, to improve competitiveness, and business start-ups should have venture capital available to them.
Asked how AN planned to push its proposals through Parliament , Dr Attard said that his party wanted the establishment of a grand coalition with ministers coming from all the different parties represented in Parliament.
It also wanted technocrats appointed to cover areas where none of the elected MPs had expertise, he said
If AN’s proposal of a grand coalition was not accepted, it would form a coalition with the party whose policies would be the closest to those in the AD manifesto, Dr Attard said.
