Maltese traditions will come alive this evening at the Valletta Waterfront.
Activities include folk dancing, falconry displays, duelling involving re-enactors depicting the Knights of St John and the Ottoman Turks, traditionalMaltese games as well as artisan market stalls.
These activities will be accompanied by background street organ music performed by a terramaxka – a musical instrument that was popular in Malta in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
While patrons are taken back in time through Maltese history and traditions they can take in the scenic Grand Harbour views from the waterfront.
The Maltese Nights at the Valletta Waterfront take place this evening and every Thursday until September 27. The evening starts at 7.30pm. Admission is free. For more information, visit www.vallettawaterfront.com.
