Josie Muscat, leader of Azzjoni Nazzjonali, said today that should his party win a seat in Parliament, it would press for an inquiry into the process leading to the redevelopment of the Sant' Antnin waste recycling plant.

Dr Muscat in a statement referred to the report issued last week (by AD candidate Carmel Cacopardo) and said Mepa rules had been broken and Environment Minister George Pullicino had interfered unduly in the process.

The AN leader criticized the fact that the report had been held under wraps for so long, and said the people responsible for the various stages of the recycling plant needed to be held accountable.
