The XIth Games of the Small States of Europe draw to a close this afternoon. A packed programme during the six-day mini-Olympics will be rounded up with the last events in store.
For some, the Games are already over with judo, completing their programme on Thursday and the women's basketball team recouping forces just in time to beat hosts Andorra for a bronze medal.
Today, the focus shifts mainly to the athletics stadium where the remaining few track and field competitions will be held. The Maltese are still very much in the running for medals here with most of our athletes, including Therese Mallia securing berths in the finals after coming through the heats.
In tennis, Boris Pasanski will be looking to win our first GSSE gold medal in the men's singles event. Today, he plays in the final.
Table tennis players had a very hectic programme in Andorra. The singles event will be played this morning. Team gold medallists Simon Gerada and Andrzej Makowski are in the semi-finals.
