Andrew Azzopardi finds new home for radio show on Campus FM
Academic and radio host will move to Campus 103.7 after being axed from RTK103
Radio host Andrew Azzopardi is set to host a current affairs show on University of Malta station Campus FM 103.7 from the Autumn following his departure from RTK103.
Azzopardi’s new upcoming show, Andrew fuq Campus 103.7 (“Andrew on Campus 103.7”) will air from 9am to 12pm every Saturday starting from the autumn, the university said in a statement Monday morning.
A start date for Azzopardi’s show, which the university said would offer a “fresh, dynamic, and controversial take on current affairs”, was not announced.
The university said the show would “explore a broad range of topics, fostering open and thought-provoking conversations that reflect the diversity and complexity of Maltese society”.
The announcement comes just weeks after RTK103 said it was axing Azzopardi’s show, with parent company Beacon Media Group “opting for a fresh format for the Saturday morning slot currently occupied by the programme".
In a Facebook post Saturday ahead of his last show, Azzopardi told listeners he would “always remember you” and to “stay tuned”.
The talk show, which ran for five years, featured academics, policy-makers, government officials and opinionists.
The university said the announcement of the upcoming show followed “substantial investments” in studio upgrades, including cameras for live video broadcasts, “a renewed strategic vision, and a revitalised brand identity”.
Radio manager Celaine Buhagiar said the station was “thrilled” to welcome Azzopardi, calling his upcoming show an “important addition to our diverse programming”.
