OBITUARIES
GERA. The Franciscan Missionaries of Mary community and her family regrettably announce the passing of Sr. YVONNE MARIA, FMM, who went to meet the Lord today, Monday, May 4. Funeral Mass will take place at the convent chapel in Balzan, tomorrow, at 2.30pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
MELILLO. On May 3, at St Michael Hospice, St Venera, EDWARD VICTOR, aged 83, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He will be forever loved by his beloved wife Victoria, née Zammit, his children David and his wife Maria, Edward and his wife Celia, Angela and her husband Oliver, his grandchildren Gabriel, Matthew, Michaela, Eliza and Thomas, his in-laws Marie Louise Falzon, Victoria Zammit, Rosanne Zammit and Michael Sant, nephews, nieces and other relatives. The funeral cortège leaves St Michael Hospice on Wednesday, May 6, for Lija parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere to celebrate his life will be said at 4pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Lija cemetery. Donations to Hospice Malta will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family would like to express their gratitude to all the medical staff at SAMOC, Mater Dei Hospital, St James Hospital and the very kind and dedicated staff at St Michael Hospice.
SANT. On May 2, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOHN, aged 88, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He will be forever loved and missed by his beloved wife Mary, née Farrugia, his son Robert and partner Odette, his daughter Rosalie and husband Andrew, his sister Sr Rose Theresa, Danielle and Adrian, grandchildren Matthew, Petra, Julian and their partners, his beloved great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and other relatives.
The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Monday, May 4, for Santa Venera parish church, where Mass to celebrate his life will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Oncology Department at SAMOC, and brown Medical Ward 1 for all their support and care. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Community Chest Fund will be greatly appreciated.
