ABELA. On April 6, LINO D. LP, aged 87 years, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Francis nèe Abdilla, daughter Anna, his brother Anthony, his grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Wednesday, April 10, at 2.30pm for the chapel at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3pm followed by interment in the family grave. No flowers by request but donations to id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
GRECH. On April 5, WILLIAM, passed peacefully away, aged 46, after a long borne illness. He leaves to mourn his loss his loving dedicated wife Priscilla, his sons Andrew and Gareth, his beloved mother Hilda, his brother Charles and his wife Yvette, his sister Gertrude and her husband Alex, his niece Nicole and nephew Dorian, his in-laws Anthony and Catherine and sister-in-law Vanessa and Matthew, relatives and friends. A celebration Mass for the repose of his soul will be held today, Monday, April 8, at 4.30pm, at Naxxar parish church. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be appreciated and collected during the celebration. William has donated his body to the Faculty of Medicine and Research, University of Malta. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family wish to thank the dedicated staff at Oncology Centre and ITU at Mater Dei Hospital, the management and staff of HSBC Bank Malta plc and Simonds Farsons Cisk, Malta Community Chest Fund and Hospice Malta.
SAMMUT. On April 8, at Mater Dei Hospital, EDWIN J, aged 86 of St Julians (ex Deputy General Manager, Central Bank) passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss, his beloved wife Pauline, née Psaila, his children Mario and his wife Angela, Josanne and her husband Simon Camilleri and Antonella and her husband Mark Galea, his adored grandchildren David, Veronica, Malcolm, Carl, Andrea, Steven and Elena, his sister Pauline and her husband Harold Caruana, Mary wife of his late brother Josie, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortége leaves Mater dei Hospital on Thursday, April 11 at 1.30pm for St Julians Parish Church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Marija Addolorata Cemetery. SULTANA. On April 6, at Mater Dei Hospital, DOMENIC, of Floriana, aged 88, former clerk at the law courts, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Mary, his son Raymond, his daughter Josette and her husband Johnny, his grandchildren Keith and Lydon, great grandchildren, his brothers and their families. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Tuesday, April 9, at 8.15am, for St Publius parish church, Floriana, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. VELLA. On April 8, MARIA STELLA née Tonna aged 101 widow of Joseph, passed away peacefully at Mater dei Hospital comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her loving daughters Ninette and her husband Emanuel (Noel) Pace, Rosalie and her husband Joe Galea, her grandchildren Glorianne, Fiona, Natasha, Lisa, James, Amanda and Trevor, their spouses, her great-grandchildren Ben, Isaac, Amani, Nathan and Ilyas, close relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater dei Hospital on Wednesday, April 10 at 1.15pm for St John of the Cross Parish Church, Ta’ Xbiex where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 2pm followed by interment at Santa Maria, Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi will be greatly appreciated. Grateful thanks for the dedication and care given at Casa San Paolo, Qawra. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
