Obituaries

AZZOPARDI. On August 4, STEPHEN, of Birkirkara, aged 85, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He will always be remembered by his wife Maria, his children Mario and his wife Maria, Tony, Josianne and her husband Hubert Fabri, his grandsons Luke and his wife Abigail, Miguel and Kai, his great-grandson Nathaniel, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday, August 8, at 8am, for St Francis of Assisi church, Birkirkara, where Mass will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

CHIRCOP. On August 5, JACQUELINE, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church at the young age of 37.  She will always be loved and remembered by her mother Madeleine Barthet, her father Joseph Chircop and his wife Marion, her siblings Christina and her husband Raymond, Matthew and his partner Freda, her nieces Nicole and Vanessa, uncles and aunties, cousins, relatives and friends. A celebration of her life præsente cadavere will be held tomorrow, Thursday, August 7 at the parish church of St Joseph the Worker in Birkirkara at 2pm. The family kindly requests for everyone attending to not wear black. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GOODRIDGE. On July 30, CATHERINE, née Borda, widow of Martin, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her family. She will forever be remembered by her three sons John, Paul and Michael, their spouses Sue, Amanda and Chris, her beloved grandchildren Emily, Anna, Esmé and Kitty, her sisters Christine Gera and Patricia Camilleri, and her husband Walter, her nieces Anne, Deborah, Alexia, Catherine, Marguerite and Jackie, and other relatives and friends. Donations to Save the Children will be appreciated. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

MAURICE AGIUS (ex Secretary General UĦM). Unfading memories of a beloved father and grandfather who went to meet the Risen Lord 20 years ago today. Deeply missed by his daughters Jacqueline and Sandra, her husband Ivan, grandchildren Silvio, Andrea, Stefano and Martina. Today’s 6.30pm Mass at Pembroke parish church will be offered for his repose. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

GUIDO DE MARCO (August 12, 2010). In memory of a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, on the 15th anniversary of his demise. Always remembered and deeply missed by his wife Violet, Giannella and George, Fiorella and Paul, Mario and Sharon, grandchildren. A Mass for the repose of his soul will be said on Tuesday, 12th August at 6.30pm at the Chapel in Simblija Care Home, Naxxar. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
