Obituaries

GRECH. On February 15 at 5.30am at Mater Dei Hospital, LAURENCE, aged 77, born in Msida and residing in Birkirkara, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Lilian née Azzopardi, his children Gerald and his partner Martina, Edward and his wife Louise and Robert and his wife Claire, his grandchildren Andrea and Katrina, and Jamie and Nicholas, and his sister Grace and her husband Tony Naudi and their children. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Tuesday, February 17 for the parish church of St Mary, known as Knisja l-Qadima, Birkirkara, where mass will be said at 9.30am. No flowers by request but donations to Dar Tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be greatly appreciated.Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MAGRI.  On January 31, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOE, passed away peacefully at the age of 69, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He is deeply mourned by his siblings Johnny and his wife Lucy, Marthese and her husband Raymond, his nephews, Odette, Denise, Massimo, Kayleigh, Julia, Lorna and Matthew, and other family and friends, especially the members of the Ħamrun Spartans Football Club. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 18, at 9.45am at St Cajetan’s parish church, Ħamrun, followed by interment at San Blas Żebbuġ cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MONTANARO. On February 15, ANGELA, aged 81, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Angela will be forever loved and cherished by her husband Rupert, her son Simon and his wife Angela, her daughter Karen and her husband Fredrik Gustafsson, her precious grandchildren Emma, Oliver and Nick, her brother Martin Leone Ganado and his wife Dorothy, her sister Marina Arrigo, her nephews and nieces, her husband’s family, cousins, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, February 17 for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema where mass to celebrate Angela’s life will be said at 9.30am followed by a private burial in the family grave at Lija cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

BONELLO – YVONNE, née Pace. 32 years on, sadly missed, forever in our hearts and thoughts. Lovingly remem­bered by her husband, Richard, her children Annick, Elaine and Edward and their families, other relatives and friends.

BORG – ROBERT (Robbie) of Floriana. In treasured memory of a dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather, today being the 43rd anniversary of his demise. Remembered with unfading love and gratitude by his son George, Antoinette and family.

GOLLCHER – Comm. JAMES G. GOLLCHER. Today being the 12th anniversary of his passing to eternal life. Sadly missed and always remembered with much love, pride and gratitude. PORTANIER – RUPERT. In loving memory of a dear husband, father and grandfather on the 24th anniversary of his demise. Fondly remembered by his wife Johanna, daughter Rachel and husband Karl, his son Michael and wife Elaine, grandchildren Francesca, Bettina, Benjamin and Elizabeth, other relatives and friends. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

SAMUT-TAGLIAFERRO – CAROLINE. In loving memory of our dearest sister, today her 10th anniversary. Always in our thoughts and prayers. Her brothers Nicholas and Stephen and their families.

SANSONE. In loving and unfading memory of LUCIENNE, today being the seventh anniversary of her passing away. Always in our thoughts and prayers. Her brothers and sisters, in-laws, nephews, nieces. Please remember her in your daily prayers. Lord, grant her eternal rest. Today’s 9.30am mass being said at Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, will be offered for the repose of her soul.
