Obituaries

GRIXTI. RENÈ PAUL, widower of Adelaide, went to meet the Risen Lord on Saturday, January 10, at 95 years of age, comforted by the rites of Holy Mother Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his dear sons Alfred and his wife Angela and Ivan and his partner Kathleen, and his beloved grandchildren, Daniel, his wife Annalise and their daughter Thea-Dominique, Thomas and his fiancée Sephora, Mireille and Esther, his sister Rose and Mary, widow of his brother Emanuel, his in-laws Albert Borg, Rose Attard, Mary Zammit, Bro. Frank Borg S.J., Lily Dalli and Josephine and her husband Alfred Cremona, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass to celebrate his life and give him the Last Rites will be held on Thursday, January 15, at 8.45am at St Gregory the Great parish church, Sliema. No flowers by request but donations to the Dominican Missions in Albania are appreciated. The family regret that they cannot receive visitors.

Lord, grant him eternal rest.

GRUNGO. On January 11, MARIO, aged 75, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He will always be loved and cherished by his wife Bernardette, his children Martina and her partner Luke Spiteri, Andrea and her husband Sergio Cappitta, his precious grandchildren Zack, Nina, Matthew, Giorgia and Sofia, his siblings Antoinette and her husband Dr Raymond Zammit, Joseph and his partner Sheila, Jeanine and her husband Frank Sciberras, Jacqueline and her husband Albert Farrugia, his in-laws Francis and his wife Marguerite Padovani, Rosemary and her husband Franco Camilleri, his nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.

The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Wednesday, January 14, for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass to celebrate his life will be said at 9am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

Lord, grant him eternal rest.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all the staff at Cardiac Medical Ward and Hospice Malta, Santa Venera, for all their care and dedication during these challenging times.

PIROTTA. On January 12, MAURICE, passed away peacefully at the age of 94. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Ivan, Karen, Martin and his wife Josianne, his grandchildren Nikolai, Andrew, Abby Jo and Matthew, his brothers, sister and their families, other relatives and friends.

The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Wednesday, January 14, for Christ the King Basilica, Paola, where Mass will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Santa Venera, would be appreciated.

May the Lord grant him eternal rest.
