Obituaries

CHIRCOP. On July 28, Dr PIERRE, aged 66, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He will forever be remembered by his devoted wife Dr Marcelle Chircop, his children Dr Joshua Chircop and Dr Bettina Chircop, and their fiancés Dr Clarissa Fenech and Mr Darrell Baldacchino, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives, numerous friends and patients. Mass praesente cadavere will take place at St Peter in Chains parish church, Birżebbuġa, tomorrow, Thursday, July 31, at 8.30am. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Santa Venera will be appreciated. A much-loved GP, and member of the Jurade de Saint-Émilion, Pierre’s enthusiasm for life, medicine and adventure will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MAYL – JOHN, son of Christopher and Eileen, née Gingell, passed away on July 27. He leaves to mourn his loss his brother Roderick and his wife Shirley, his nephews Sean and Keith, his beloved aunt Mabel and uncle Paul Cefai, his cousins Pamela and Aaron Rizzo, as well as other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday, August 1, at 9am, for Balluta church, St Julian’s, where funeral Mass præsente cadavere will be held at 9.30am, followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Richmond Foundation, Santa Venera, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CACHIA ZAMMIT. In loving memory of ALEXANDER, a most beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, on the 11th anniversary of his passing away. Never forgotten, fondly remembered by his children Kathryn and John and their families. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MIRIAM and JOSEPH SCICLUNA In loving remembrance of Miriam and Joseph Scicluna who passed away on July 22, 2024 and August 14, 2024. Devoted parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents, they were and still are the heart of our family, remembered fortheir unwavering love, strength, and kindness. A Mass for the repose of their soul will be celebrated on Friday, August 1, at 6.30pm at Balzan parish church, the day that marks their 71st wedding anniversary. Their legacy lives on in the lives they touched and the memories we hold very dear. May they rest in eternal peace
