Obituaries
ABELA. It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of ALFRED, aged 88, surrounded by the love of his family. Alfred leaves behind his children, Dr Harold and his wife Mariella, Brian and his wife Johane, Kenneth and his wife Sharon, and Claire and her husband Kenneth, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved him immensely. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather whose warmth, wisdom, and affection touched all who knew him. Alfred will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his kindness, his jovial spirit, and the love he shared throughout his life. While we mourn his loss, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind and the enduring legacy of love, strength, and family values he passed on to future generations. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Friday, June 26, at 7.45am, for Iklin parish church, where Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated at 8.30am, followed by burial in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Inspire Malta foundation would be appreciated. May he rest in eternal peace.
BLAKE. On June 23, at St James Capua Hospital, LYDIA, née Vella, aged 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She will always be loved and cherished by her beloved children Audrey and her husband Mark, James and his wife Sheryl Ann, her precious granddaughters Lisa and Emma and her husband Luke, together with her in-laws, her nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Mass to celebrate her life will be held today, Thursday, June 25, at 2pm, at Tal-Ibraġ parish church, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest. The family would like to thank all her doctors, nurses and staff at The Imperial Care Home and St James Capua Hospital for their unwavering care and support. The family would welcome donations to Puttinu Cares in loving memory of their beloved Lydia.
RIZZO. On June 20, NOEL, aged 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He will be forever loved and cherished by his children Bernadette and her husband Alan, Julia and her husband John, Stephen and his wife Beatrix, Melanie and her partner Noel, his grandchildren David, Melanie, Ian, Nicola, Emma, Sophie, Hanna, Nicole, Gabi and Rebecca, his great-grandchildren Audrianna and Sawyer, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves St James Hospital, Sliema, tomorrow, Friday, June 26, for St Julian’s parish church where Mass to celebrate his life will be held at 1.30pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family would like to express their gratitude for all the love and care shown by the carers at Simblija Care Home and Seniors Helping Seniors.

In loving memory of TESSIE SOLER today being the 23rd anniversary of her meeting with the Lord. Time and years slip gently by; Yet love and memories never die. So sadly missed yet so close to our hearts. Marceline, widow of Joseph, Marie, widow of her son Denis, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The 6.30pm Mass at Tal-Ibraġ parish church will be offered for the repose of her soul.
