Obituaries

AMEEN. On March 5, at Mater Dei Hospital, AKRAM, passed away peacefully at the age of 82. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Sandra, his daughters Juan, Sherene and Matthew, Zara and Corey, Midja and Martin, and his cherished grandchildren Mara, Giuseppe and Philippa. He will be fondly remembered by all his family and friends whose lives he touched. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, March 10, for Our Lady of Lourdes parish church, San Ġwann, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 8.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest. Special thanks to the staff at the Palliative Care Unit at Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre for their dedication and care.

DEGIOVANNI. On March 7, ANTHONY, aged 86, of Attard, went to meet the Risen Lord and join his wife Catherine. He leaves to mourn his loss his brother Salvino, in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, March 10, at 1pm for Attard parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated.

TERRIBILE. On March 5, OTTILIA, ex-kindergarten assistant at St Sebastian primary school, Qormi, aged 67, passed away after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family. Her love, joyful spirit, warmth and care will never be forgotten by all, most especially by her brother Olaph and his wife Mary, her precious nephews and nieces Olen and his wife Emma, Kimberly, Kenneth and his wife Michelle, her great-nieces Clara, Luċija and Olivia, her aunties, uncles and cousins, other relatives, her ex-colleagues and past students. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Wednesday, March 11, for St Sebastian parish church, Qormi, where Mass to celebrate her life will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations in memory of Ottilia to Hospice Malta, Santa Venera, are greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CRITIEN. In loving memory of PETER GODFREY on his fourth anniversary. Just like the sweetest rose the petals fell too soon, but the love you planted in my heart will never cease to bloom. Loved and missed by Myra.

FRENDO JONES. In loving and unfading memory of LIZ, today the 21st anniversary of her passing away. Her brothers, sisters, in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Please remember her in your daily prayers. Today’s 10.30am Mass at Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, will be offered for the repose of her soul. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GALEA – ANOUSCKA. Always in our hearts and prayers especially on this anniversary. ‘Nou-nou’, 20 years now you have been singing and dancing with the angels in Heaven. We remember your sweet voice, “Hello daddy… I’m all right, mummy”. Her parents and siblings in England and cousins in Malta.

RIPARD. 45 years ago, KIT, a dear father, grandfather, and a richly talented man, passed away. Lovingly remembered by his sons Nick, Tim, Chris, Ed, Mick, and Paul, and their families.

TORTELL – PETER. Treasured memories of a much-loved father, grandfather and great-grand­father on the first anniversary of his meeting with the Lord. Your love, wisdom and strength guide us every day. Forever in our thoughts and prayers. Angela and Kenneth, John and Aida, Silvana and all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mass for the repose of his soul will be held today at 10am at Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VELLA. In loving memory of our dear parents ISAAC and MARIA on the anniversary of their passing away to eternal life. Always in our thoughts and prayers. His daughters Edith, Cecilia and her husband Vincent and their beloved grandchildren.

In loving memory of LIZ FRENDO JONES on the 21st anniversary of her demise. Treasured and unfading memories of our most precious and beloved ELIZABETH CURMI (9.3.2023) especially tomorrow, being the third anniversary of her meeting with the Lord.
