Obituaries

BUGEJA. On October 8, ADELINA, aged 86, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her sons Paul and his wife Lucrezia, Victor and his wife Odette, Walter and his wife Marianna, Joseph and his wife Brigitte, her grandchildren Jeanelle, Justine, Fr Johan SDB, Martina, Marcella, Sarah, Dylan, Francesca, Katrina, and Miriana, her great-grandchildren Nick, Ella, Jack and Sam, family and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today, Thursday, October 16, at 3.30pm, at Naxxar parish church, followed by interment at Naxxar cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CILIA – HELEN, 10.6.1941-13.10.2025. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen, who left us peacefully on October 13 at the age of 84. Helen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a cherished volunteer member of Happy Paws, MADC and Craft&Coffee. Helen lived a full life of laughter, surrounded by friends and hordes of stage and carnival costumes. She will also be remembered for her love of animals, especially her two cats who she adored. Helen wished to donate her body to the Medical School for research, hence a memorial Mass is being held on Friday, October 17, at 8.30am, at Marsascala parish church. Instead of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Happy Paws, a cause close to Helen’s heart. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GRECH. On October 14, OSCAR, went to meet the Risen Lord, aged 90. Always fondly remembered by his beloved children Nathalie and her husband Lino, Antoinette and her husband Pierre, Caroline and her husband Raymond and Reuben and his wife Claudine, his grandchildren Kristina, Gabriel, Matthew, Nicola, Julian, Andrew, David, Daniel, Joy and Leo, his great-grandchildren Kyle, Zack, Lucia and Ġiġi, his family and his wife’s family, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Friday, October 17, at 10am, for the Little Sisters of the Poor chapel, Ħamrun, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 10.30am, followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MICALLEF. On October 15, at Mater Dei Hospital, after a short illness, SAVIOUR, aged 79, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mary Louise, his sons Joswill and his wife Lisa, and Kenneth, his grandchildren Ana and Katrina, his brothers Philip, John, Paul and his wife Carmen, several other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Friday, October 17, at 3pm, for St Philip’s parish church, Żebbuġ, where Mass to celebrate his life will be said at 3.30pm, followed by interment at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Żebbuġ. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family would like to thank all the staff at MAU1 who did their utmost to make his last days as comfortable as possible.

VELLA BONNICI. On October 14, at Mater Dei Hospital, ERIC. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Esther, his children Josephine and her partner Robert, Charlene and her husband Carl, his granddaughter Emma, in-laws and their families, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated tomorrow, Friday, October 17, at 9am, at Attard parish church, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Dar Bjorn, would be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

In Memoriam

dei CONTI STAGNO NAVARRA – ALFRED. Cherished and unfading memories of our father, today the 44th anniversary of his passing. Though you are no longer with us, your spirit lives on with your children. Lord grant him eternal rest. Peter, Stephen, James, Adrian, Patrick, Lorraine.

MILLER – GERALD. On the second anniversary of his passing, we honour the cherished memory of a beloved gentleman and a devoted father. He is sadly missed by his partner Susanne and by his daughter Celine, along with her partner Melanie, who carry his spirit in their hearts forever. He is also remembered fondly by his brother Ray and his family. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

SCHEMBRI ZARB – ALFREDA. Today the eighth anniversary of her passing. Always missed and loved by her daughter Molly. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

VELLA – DENNIS. In loving memory of a dear son and brother, today being the fifth anniversary of his passing. Deeply missed by his parents, siblings and family. Today’s 6.30pm Mass at Tal-Ibraġ parish church will be offered for the repose of his soul. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.
