Obituary

BUHAGIAR. On August 29, FRANCES, née ABELA, aged 83, lovingly known as FIFI, widow of Angelo, passed away peacefully and went to meet the risen Christ comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her sisters Mary, widow of Hugo Grech Marguerat, and Antida, widow of Francis Cordina, her nephews and nieces Raymond and Miriam Cordina, Maureen and Keith Cole, Joanna and Publius Bonnici, Fr Pierre Grech Marguerat SJ, Cecilia and Joe Grech, Graziella and Paul Agius, Mariella and Giuseppe Cutuli, Sandra and Ivan Distefano. Also her great-nephews and nieces Claire, Krista, Anna-Maria, Andrew, Antida, Michael, Marco, Elena, Elisa, Matthew, Gianluca and Amy. Her memory will also be cherished by her other relatives, her many friends, among them the community of the Kappella Ġesù Ħabib and the Buhagiar family. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Balluta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Medical Ward 4 at Mater Dei Hospital. Lord grant her eternal rest.

CAMILLERI. On August 18, CARMEN, aged 50, passed away under tragic circumstances. She leaves to mourn her loss her father Peter-Paul, her sister Josephine and her husband Mario Attard, her brother Gerald and his wife Agnes, Mary-Rose, Edgar, her nephews and nieces Matthias, Paula and Elaine, her uncles and aunts, other relatives, neighbours and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2.30 p.m. for St Helen Basilica in Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m., followed by interment at the Mosta cemetery. Donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated.

CREMONA. Surg. Lt Col Anthony G. Cremona DDS, RMA rtd, aged 84, widower of Rosemary and son of the late Salvatore and the Noble Beatrice Testaferrata Moroni Viani, passed away peacefully at his residence in Ta' Xbiex comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children, Kathleen and her husband Wolf Ruediger vom Schloss, Peter and his wife Eva, Jennifer and her husband Peter Zammit, David and Fiona, his grandchildren, Nicola, Hannah, Samuel, Andy, Antonio and Daniella, his sister Mary and her husband Cesare Benvenuti, sister in-law Tessie Azzopardi, Joanna and Benjamin, nephews, nieces, relatives and dear friends. The funeral leaves Saint James Capua Hospital today at 9.15 a.m. for Ta' Xbiex parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord grant him eternal rest.

DEGUARA. On August 31, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPHINE (Ġuża), née Vella, aged 70, widow of Joseph (Il-Ħajjat), passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her children Mario and his wife Marica, Denis and his wife Francielle, her grandchildren Daniela, Lara-Marie, Ilona and Gilbert, her brother Anthony and other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2.30 p.m. for Our Lady of Victories parish church, Mellieħa, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment at the Mellieħa cemetery. ENRIQUEZ. On August 31, at Mater Dei Hospital, ADELINA, aged 93, passed away peacefully to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved sons Fr Mark OFM, Fr Victor O. Carm, Joe, John and his wife Josette, Emmanuel and his wife Rita, nephews and nieces, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital at 8 a.m. tomorrow. GALEA. On August 29, at Mater Dei Hospital, ITALA, née Agius, at the venerable age of 97. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Yvette and her husband Tony Guillaumier, her son Valmore and his wife Margaret, Beryl, wife of her late son Ronald, her grandchildren Jonathan, Gordon, Dax, Lisa, Lara, Natasha, Tanya and her great-grandchildren Joshua, Matthew, Jaden, Sara and Ella, her constant companion Doris Galdes and many other friends and relatives. The funeral service will be held at St Julians parish church tomorrow at 9.15 a.m. No flowers by request but donations to the Richmond Foundation will be appreciated.

GEMMELL. On August 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELA (Neni), née Vella, aged 77, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons Charles and his wife Janet, Emmanuel, David, Christopher and his wife Marthese, her grandchildren and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Wednesday, September 3, at 8.45 a.m. for St Julians parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.15 a.m. followed by interment at St Leone Cemetery, Żurrieq.

MUSCAT. On August 29, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELA, aged 95, widow of John, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Paulina, Angelina, Joseph and his wife Maria Louise, Anthony and his wife Maud, her grandchildren Ruth, Sarah, Valerian, Adele and their families, other relatives and friends. He leaves to mourn his sad loss his devoted wife Joan, his beloved children Albert, Annamaria and her husband Patrick Gatt, Christopher, Nathalie and her husband Ray Borg, his treasured grandchildren Shaun and Krista, his sister Bibiana and her husband Antoine Zammit, his cousins Elsie Pace Asciak, Margaret and her husband John Vassallo, his in-laws Louise and her husband Joe Cilia Vincenti, Tanya, widow of Joe Borg and Walter Borg, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. VELLA. On August 31, at his home in Naxxar, SAVIOUR, known as Turi, aged 81, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his sad loss his sister Marianne Camilleri, his brothers Victor, Carmel and his wife Alice, Anna, widow of his brother Roger, his nephews among them Fr Rene Vella, his nieces, many cousins and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be said today at 4.30 p.m. at Our Lady of Victories parish church, Naxxar, followed by interment at St George Cemetery, Naxxar. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza in Siġġiewi will be appreciated.

XUEREB. On August 29, ANNE, Sister of St Dorothy, aged 86, sister of the late Mgr Carmelo Xuereb, Vicar General Emeritus, passed away peacefully and went to meet The Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, after years of suffering borne with great Christian spirit. She leaves to mourn her sad loss the Congregation of the Sisters of St Dorothy, her niece Olga and her husband Joseph Mifsud, her grand nephews and grand nieces, Mary and Nena Cachia and numerous relatives, friends, teachers and pupils of St Dorothy's.

The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 9 a.m. for St Gregory parish church, Sliema where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

CASTALDI. In loving memory of CARMELINA, 1904-2003, on the fifth anniversary of her death. Always remembered by her sons Oscar and Alfred. A prayer for her repose is appreciated.

CIANTAR - ANTON (ex-manager, BOV). On the sixth anniversary of his passing away. Always fondly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Helen, his son Mark and wife Vanessa, his daughter Lara and her husband Michael Grech, his four grandchildren, his mother Clotilde, family and friends.
