Obituary

AGIUS. On January 17 at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, aged 89, passed away peacefully after an illness borne with Christian fortitude and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Chessie née Montebello, his sister Suor Emiliana, missionary in Brazil, his in-laws, brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, among them professors Ray and Lorraine Agius in the United Kingdom, and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Gregory's parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by internment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, in Siġġiewi will be greatly appreciated. The family regrets it is unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

ATTARD. On January 18, EDWARD, aged 75, passed away peacefully at Zammit Clapp Hospital, comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Nina née Cuschieri, his children John and his wife Mary, Tania and her husband Joseph Bonello and Simon and his wife Tania, his grandchildren, in-laws, his brother Guido and his wife Olympia, other relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be said at Mount Carmel Parish Church, Gżira, today, at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, Grant him eternal rest.

BEZZINA. On January 17, at the Holy Family Home, Naxxar, FRANGESKA, aged 90, widower of Carmelo, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss Emanuel and his wife Carmen, George and his wife Carmen, Charles and his wife Mary, Joe and his wife Antoinette, Fred and his wife Helen, Rita and her husband Geoffrey Tedesco Triccas, Tony and his wife Grace, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother and sisters, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Holy Family Home in Naxxar at 2.30 p.m. today. Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m. at St Helen's Basilica in Birkirkara, followed by interment at the Naxxar Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza in Siġġiewi will be greatly appreciated. Lord, Grant him eternal peace.

MICALLEF FARRUGIA. On January 17, ANGOLINA (Julie) aged 57, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband John, her son Emon, her mother Maria née Spiteri, her sister and brother Liliana and Raymond Farrugia, her niece Lisa Marie, other relatives and many friends. The funeral leaves St James Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for St Dominic conventual church, Rabat, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Qrendi cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

PACE. On January 18, JOSEPH, of St Julians, aged 87, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his only daughter Maris and her husband Mario Grima, his grandchildren Melissa, Ann and her husband Oscar, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Zammit Clapp Hospital on Wednesday at 7.45 a.m. for St Julians parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.15 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

PLUNKETT - ANNIE ELIZABETH MARGARET, née Valler, known by all as Betty, passed away peacefully at home in Nadur, Gozo, aged 76. Beloved wife of Frank, mother of Kim and Karen, grandmother of Alexander and Alastair. Funeral on January 21 at 1 p.m. at the Santa Maria Cemetery, Xewkija. Flowers to the mortuary, Gozo General Hospital, by noon same day. She was loved dearly and we can never replace her.

SCERRI. On January 17, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, aged 68, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his mother Vincenza, his siblings Charles and his wife Rose, Mary, Alfred and his wife Doris, his nephews Fr Hector Scerri, Patrick Scerri and his wife Glorian, James Scerri Worley and his wife Vanessa, as well as many relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for Santa Venera parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza in Siġġiewi will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
