Obituary

ANDERSON - Major LEE CHARLES ANDERSON, formerly Azzopardi, passed away on January 7 at Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth, Wales, UK, after a long illness, comforted by his wife and daughter. He leaves to mourn his loss his dear wife Dorothy, son and daughter John and Christine, son-in-law Nigel, and grandchildren Lindsay and Rowan. We wish to extend our grateful thanks for the many kind messages of condolence at this sad time.

ATTARD. On January 23, at Villa Messina, EVELYN, aged 79, widow of Censinu, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughters Josephine and her husband Stephen Scicluna, Mary Rose and her husband Patrick Grima, her son-in-law Iro Camilleri, widower of her daughter Vivienne, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother Arthur and his family, residing in Australia, brother-in-law Joseph and his wife Iris, other relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be said tomorrow at Christ the King parish church, Paola at 8.30 a.m. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be appreciated. BERESFORD WEBB. On January 21, CHRISTOPHER of Xaghra, Gozo, passed away peacefully at Gozo General Hospital. The funeral service will be held tomorrow at 2.30 p.m. at The Nativity of Our Lady Basilica, Xaghra. No flowers please but donations to Gozo General Hospital CCU.

CASSAR TORREGGIANI - HELGA BENITA, BA. On January 18, in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Born in Florence, Italy, March 3, 1925, daughter of Walter Curzon Shepherd, ICS, and Ann Holmstrom, she leaves to mourn her loss her husband Francis and children Anne and Dave Cavazzi, Patricia Jansen, Peter and Rosanne, Benita, Victoria Olson, Kim and Paul Morford, 10 grandchildren, as well as many relatives and friends. Benita was posted to Malta in the Royal Navy and had many fond memories of Malta.

DEGUARA. On January 23, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARY, née Pace, aged 86, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons Dr Louis Deguara, MP, and his wife Dr Maria, Peter Paul and his wife Marthese, and John and his wife Manuelita, her grandchildren Christine and her fiancé Rudi, Christopher and his fiancée Simone, Ann Marie, Mauro and Jean Claude, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.15 a.m. for Naxxar parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.45 a.m., followed by interment at Naxxar cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GALEA. On January 24, at Boffa Hospital, JOSEPH, aged 78, passed peacefully away, surrounded by his loved ones and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreplaceable loss his daughters Mariagrazia, Maria Josephine and Maria Dolores and their respective husbands, his precious grandchildren Clint, Bernard and Aaron and their fiancées, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Boffa Hospital tomorrow at 7.30 a.m. for Zabbar Sanctuary, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Zabbar cemetery. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Requiem Masses

On the fourth anniversary of the death of Fr CHARLES CARUANA, SJ, a Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated on January 28 at 7 p.m. at the University chapel, Msida. The attendance of relatives and friends will be greatly appreciated.
