Obituary
DE MARTINO. On February 19, at St Vincent de Paul residence, SALVATORE of Senglea, residing at Mosta, widower of Ġuża, aged 91, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Maria, Fr Raphael De Martino, Giovanni and his wife Maria, Josephine and her husband Tony Chetcuti, Rose and her husband Lino Cassar, Carmelo and his wife Joyce, Joe and his wife Emilia and Salvu and his wife Jane, his grandchildren Albert, Giovanni and his wife Sylvana, Maria and her husband Patrick Bezzina, Manuel, Louis and his wife Roberta, Christine, Maria, Mark, John, Salvatore, Alan, Massimiliana, Maria, Rita, Graziella, Stefano and Thomas, his great-grandchildren Francesca Pia and Laura Maria, his sister Rose Fenech, his brother Giovanni and his wife Maria, his sisters-in-law Ġuża Fenech, residing in Australia, and Maria Fenech. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence today at 2.15 p.m. for Mosta parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m., followed by interment in the family vault at Mosta cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
SCHEMBRI. On February 19, Fr HENRY SCHEMBRI, Augustinian friar, aged 74, passed peacefully away at St Rita's Priory, St Julians, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss the brothers of the Augustinian Province, his sisters Mary, Frances, Lina and Salvina, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves the Millennium chapel, Paceville, today at 9.15 a.m. for Our Lady of Good Counsel church, Paceville, where a concelebrated Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment in the grave of the Augustinian Province at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Augustinian missions would be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Course for care assistants
A course for care assistants is being organised by the Department for the Elderly and Community Care in collaboration with the St Vincent De Paul Residence.
Applications may be sent by post or delivered by hand to the Accounts Section, Department for the Elderly and Community Care, Ċentru Ħidma Soċjali, St Joseph High Road, Sta Venera by not later than Wednesday.
Applicants must be over 16 years old and are to present a police conduct and school leaving certificate. The course, which runs over four months, starts on March 23 and includes both theory and practice in care services.
On completion of the course, a certificate will be presented to each candidate, making them eligible to work as care assistants in any home for the elderly.
Music courses
Music courses will be organised by the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce between April and June.
Lessons in guitar, piano, violin, clarinet, flute, voice and theory will be held from Monday to Saturday between 9 a.m. and noon or 4 and 8 p.m. and will run for 10 sessions of about 45 to 60 minutes each.
They are open to anyone over six years old and cost €38.
Application forms are available from Palazzo De La Salle at 219, Republic Street, Valletta from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

MEP for Gozo?
A public discussion about whether Gozo should have its own Member of the European Parliament will take place on Friday at 7.30 p.m. at 7, Sir Adrian Dingli Street, Victoria. The event is being organised by the Circolo Gozitano.
Married couples' retreat

Car wash collection
Over €950 were collected by a group of young people who form part of Gi.Fra. Floriana, a youth group, during a car wash held last week. The money will be donated to Puttinu Cares, which supports children suffering from cancer.
