Obituary
CASSAR. On March 21, MICHAELA, known as Lina, née Lanzon, aged 80, went to meet the Risen Lord comforted by the rites of the Roman Catholic Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Lawrence, her children Eugenio and his wife Doris, Anna and her husband Raymond Demanuele, Robert and his wife Monica, her grandchildren Beppe, Jeanine, Michela, Chiara Maria and Elisa, her sisters Frances, Mary widow of Emmanuel Sammut, Vivienne and her husband Lorry Coleiro, in-laws, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1 p.m. for the Metropolitan Cathedral, Mdina, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 1.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery, Paola. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar Tal-Kleru, Birkirkara would be appreciated. The family regrets it cannot accept visitors. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
FELICE. On March 20, FERDINAND, B.Sc., Ph.C. (Royal University of Malta, 1939), passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of the Roman Catholic Church at the venerable age of 90. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Olga née Agius, to whom he was married for 62 years. In his good and long life he was devoted to Olga and their children, dedicated to the teaching of science at St Albert the Great College in Valletta and to the practice of pharmacy, having been president of the Malta Chamber of Pharmacists in the 1970s. He is fondly remembered by his children Alex and his wife Joanna, Donald and his wife Marina, Mary Ann, widow of the recently departed Charles Sant Fournier, David and his wife Nikki, his grandchildren Nicholas and Tiziana Micallef, Paul and Francesca Sammut, Rebecca and Patrick Custo, Vera and Sean Azzopardi, Sam and Ella, and his great- granddaughter Katrina. Also remembering him are the children of his brothers, the late Paul and Vincent: Alfred and Jane, Anthony and Sharry, Joseph and Doreen, Paul and Helen, Joe and Jo, and Anna and the rest of the family in North America, along with his in-laws Edgar and Anne Agius, Yvonne and Peter Hall, and Emilio and Mary Agius, their children, the children of Olga's deceased brothers and sisters, countless former students, professional collaborators and many friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service, praesente cadavere tomorrow at 2 p.m., at St Augustine parish church, Valletta. Flowers are welcome and donations to charitable institutions may be made in his memory and for the repose of his soul. The family is grateful to colleagues who assisted him in his final days at Karin Grech and Mater Dei hospitals. While thanking all those who have expressed their sorrow, the family prefer not to receive visitors at home. Lord, giver of life, embrace him in your open arms and may he rest in peace.

Literary translation
Linda Pillière from the University of Littoral Côte d'Opal, France will deliver a lecture on Literary Translation in Lecture Room 117 at the Department of Translation and Interpreting Studies at the university on April 2 between 3 and 4 p.m.
Students' donation
The students' council of Marija Regina College St Paul's Bay Primary School donated €1,200 to the Puttinu Cares for Children Fund. The money was collected during the school's annual casual wear day.
Romero mass
Mass will be celebrated on the 19th anniversary of the death of Fr Oscar Romero, former Archbishop of San Salvador, on March 28 at 6.30 p.m. at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Balluta.
Weekend break
A weekend break is being organised by the Żejtun local council between March 27 and 31 at the Plaza Hotel in Sliema.

Open day at Ħal Millieri
Din l-Art Ħelwa will be holding an open day at the mediaeval chapel of the Annunciation at Ħal Millieri, Żurrieq to celebrate the feast of the Annunciation on March 29. The chapel, which houses rare cycle mediaeval frescoes, will be open between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. At 10 a.m., Mass will be celebrated. Entrance is free of charge.
Lectures on Dante
Five lectures on Dante and the Divina Commedia will be delivered to post-secondary students. The first will take place on April 18 at 5 p.m. at the Sanctuary Museum in Żabbar.

Piano student's distinction
Michela Attard obtained a distinction mark in her Initial grade in piano and not a pass mark, as inadvertently published in the Trinity College notice that appeared on The Times of March 14.
