CASHA. On July 31, JOSEPHINE from Żabbar, aged 87, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Godfrey and his wife Margaret, Alex and his wife Louise and Brigette, her niece Jennifer and her husband Omar and their son Sven, her nephew Kenneth and his fiancée Diane, her sister, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8 a.m. for the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Grace, Żabbar, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at the Żabbar Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to St Joseph Institute of Żabbar will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GALEA CURMI - JOSETTE. Fond and grateful memories of a loving mother and sister, tomorrow the ninth anniversary of her passing away to a better life. In 2007, her husband Paul joined her in everlasting life. We miss you both greatly, but the love and faith you shared live on in the hearts of all whom you touched by your life. Their children and families, her sister and brothers and their families. A Mass celebrating their life will be said on Monday August 3, at 7 p.m. at Bon Pastur church, Balzan.

First aid course

A basic first aid course will be held by the Malta Red Cross Society at its headquarters in 104, St Ursula Street, Valletta on August 17-19, 2009 from 3.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.

Certificates, recognised throughout the EU, will be issued to the succesful candidates on completion of the course. The course fee is €33 per person, including course materials and notes. Interested parties are invited to call on 2122 2645 from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. or e-mail adminstration@redcross.org.mt for further details.

Meeting with President

The Emigrants' Commission is inviting all emigrants to visit President George Abela at the Palace, Valletta, and St John's Co-Cathedral on Wednesday. Participants should meet at 9 a.m. at the commission's premises in Castille Square, Valletta.
