Obituary

GRIMA. On November 1, JOE A., aged 65, former Member of Parliament, of Żebbuġ, residing in Mosta, passed away peacefully at his residence, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Rita, his three children, Claude and his girlfriend Roberta, Chris and his wife Liliana, Clive and his girlfriend Victoria, his grandchild Amy, his mother Grezz, his brothers and sisters Filippa, Żaren, Tony, Maryrose, Frans, Suor Elizabetta of St Ursula Monastery, Philip, Raymond, Paul and Natalina, his in-laws Victor, Carmen of Australia, Edith, and their respective spouses, his aunt Nina, cousins, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves his residence at 7 a.m. tomorrow for St Philip parish church, Żebbuġ, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 7.45 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at St Andrew Cemetery, Żebbuġ. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement will be appreciated. Lord Grant him eternal rest.

SCERRI. On October 31, ALBERT, aged 78, residing at Ħamrun, at Mater Dei Hospital, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Natalia, his children, Mauro and his wife Tanya, David and his wife Rosanne, his grandchildren Gabriella, Michael, Daniel, Stefan and Rachel, his brothers and sisters Doris, Hilda, Joe, Lina, Rose and Neville, in-laws, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital at 7.45 a.m. tomorrow for the Immaculate Conception parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.15 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

STANLEY. On November 1, MARY née Dowling, residing at St Paul's bay, aged 95, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children, Violet and her husband Joe Attard, Sandra Camilleri and Peter Veken, Colin and his wife Anna, Dorothy and her husband Tony Formosa, Mary widow of her son Charles Dowling, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.15 p.m. for Our Lady of Sorrows parish church, St Paul's Bay where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Catholic social teaching

The Centre for Faith and Justice, together with the Pastoral Formation Institute, will be holding a course on Catholic social teaching, which aims to familiarise participants with social issues and the Church's reactions to them.

The course is targeted at group leaders and multipliers in the social, economic, cultural, political and educational field. It will be held on Wednesdays between 6.30 and 8.30 p.m. at the Catholic Institute in Floriana.

Hospice Movement cards

The Malta Hospice Movement has issued a set of five Christmas cards reproduced from original paintings by John Martin Borg, Daniel John Bugeja, Miriam Cini, Paul Galea and Jane Micallef.

All proceeds will go towards the charitable movement, which helps cancer and motor neurone disease sufferers and their families. The cards, selling at 50c each, can be obtained from the Malta Hospice Movement, 39, Good Shepherd Avenue, Balzan or ordered on telephone number 2144 0085 and frhospice@onvol.net.

Sliema bazaar

A fund-raising bazaar will be held at the Padova Hall, near the Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema in aid of the feast. The bazaar will be open between November 6-8 from 8 a.m. onwards.
