Obituary

ANASTASI. On November 8, at St Vincent de Paul residence, ELENA (Lilian), née Micallef Trigona, of Sliema, widow of Ivo, passed away peacefully. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Edward, her beloved daughter Victoria and her husband Joseph Lauri, her grandsons Marcus and his wife Lidia, David and Karina, her great-granddaughter Nicole, her sisters Mabel Desira Buttigieg and Grace Purdy, her brother Tony Micallef Trigona, nephews, nieces, other relatives and her numerous good friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence today at 2 p.m. for St Gregory's parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

BUHAGIAR. On November 8, at St Vincent de Paul residence, MARYANN of Żabbar, widow of Grazio, aged 84, passed away peacefully. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Vincent and his wife Maria, George and his wife Marthese, her grandchildren Daniel, Michael, Lucia, Giulia, Gabriel, Emilia, Mariana, Stefanos and Samuel, her brother Emanuel of Australia and his wife Katie, her sisters-in-law Martha Mifsud Ellul and Viriginia Buhagiar, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence today at 3 p.m. for the Żabbar Sanctuary where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. GRECH - PAUL, formerly of St Julians, residing in Toronto, Canada, passed away on November 8. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Rose, née Scannura, his son Matthew, his brothers Lino, John and Raymond, his sisters Terry and Rita, their spouses, his mother-in-law Theresa Scannura, relatives and friends. A Mass for the repose of his soul will be said on November 14 at 9 a.m. at St John of the Cross parish church, Ta' Xbiex.

MICALLEF. On November 9, KATERIN, aged 77, at her residence in Rabat, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Joe and his wife Joyce, Paul and his wife Nanette, Manuel, Fr Marcellino OFM, Mark and his wife Elizabeth, Joanne and her husband Charlon, Frankie and his wife Gloria, Margaret, widow of her son Johnny, Salvu, widower of her daughter Maria, her in-laws and their respective families, her sisters and their respective husbands, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves her residence tomorrow at 3.15 p.m. for the church dedicated to St Mary of Jesus (Ta' Ġieżu) in Rabat where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. VELLA. On November 8, at Charella Residential Home, CONNIE, née Gaffiero, widow of Notary Dr Carmelo G. Vella LLD, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Joseph Vella Gaffiero and his wife Vicky née Ghirlando, her grand-daughter Sarah and her husband Robert Lautier, great-grandchildren Ella and Kyra, her sister Mary Pace Bardon, her sister-in-law Antoinette and Dr Raphael Patiniott, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Charella Residential Home today at 7.45 a.m., for the Carmelite parish church at Fleur-de-Lys, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Charity run

The Old Motors Club will be holding a charity run around Malta on November 15, proceeds from which will go towards the Malta Hospice Movement.

There will be stops with the cars being on display from 9 to 10.45 a.m. in Victory Square, Vittoriosa, in Birkirkara from 11.15 a.m. to 12.45 p.m., in Mosta Square from 1.15 to 3.30 p.m. and near the Aviation Museum in Ta' Qali from 4 to 5.30 p.m.

The international Movement of Prayer Blessed Pope John XXIII will be holding an evening of prayer on November 18 at the basement chapel of Sarria church, Floriana from 5.30 to 6.30 p.m.
