DeMARCO. On January 29, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, Fr PHILIP, aged 70, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brother Joe and his family, his sister Ghita and her husband Donald Pace Bonello and their family, his sister-in-law Marie, widow of his brother Reggie and her family, among other relatives and numerous friends. The funeral leaves St James Capua Hospital on February 1 at 1.30 p.m. for St Julians parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The playground of the primary school in Lapsi street will be open for parking during the funeral. No flowers by request but donations to Preventive Care, Children's Homes, 65, Old Mint Street, Valletta. The family would like to thank all the doctors who looker after him during his illness and the nurses and staff at the hospital.

GALEA BRIFFA. On January 27, Salvu, of Victoria, aged 79, at Gozo General Hospital, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Antoinette, his sisters Giga, Marija and her husband Spiru, Rose and her husband Salvu, his brother Ġużeppi, Carmen, widow of his brother Anton, his aunt Mananni, his wife's brothers and sisters among whom Mgr Joe Gauci, uncle Mgr Ġużeppi Azzopardi, his nephews Fr Roberto Gauci and seminarian Gabriel, his nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital today at 3.30 p.m. for Republic Street, Victoria, where the cortege starts to the Gozo Cathedral. At 4 p.m Mass praesente cadavere will be said followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

GANADO. On January 28, at St James Capua Hospital, MURIEL, née Orr, aged 86, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Mother Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her husband Albert, her daughters Berta, Rita and her husband Austin Sammut, her grandchildren Simon, Anna, Giorgio, Beppe and Giulio, her brother Fr Joseph Orr SJ, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadvere will be held to celebrate her life at St Publius church, Floriana, today at 9 a.m., followed by private interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Dar tal-Provvidenza, the Salesian Oratory, Sliema and Dar Ġesù tal-Proxxmu, Gozo, will be appreciated. She was kind, generous and brave. She wore her heart on her sleeve. May she rest in peace.
