Obituary

DEBATTISTA. On April 2, at Mater Dei Hospital, DORIS, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brother John and wife Carmen, her sister Mary (Sister of St Joseph), her brother Anthony and wife Jane, her brother Gejtu and wife Mary Rose, her sister-in-law Rita, widow of Emmanuel, her sister-in-law Antida, widow of Joseph, their respective families, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for Attard parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

FARRUGIA. On April 4, at Dar tal-Kleru residence in Birkirkara, Fr CARMELO FARRUGIA, of Attard, aged 86, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his brother Joseph and his wife Miriam, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends, among them the members of the Legion of Mary. The funeral leaves Dar tal-Kleru residence in Birkirkara tomorrow at 12.30 p.m. for St Anne's chapel in Attard, where mourners will be able to pay their last respects. The funeral will then proceed to St Mary's parish church in Attard where Mass preasente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Kleru residence in Birkirkara will be greatly appreciated. Special thanks go to the management, sisters and carers of Dar tal-Kleru residence in Birkirkara. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MALLIA. On April 3, at Mater Dei Hospital, ĠUŻA, aged 78, of Żebbuġ, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Salvinu, her children Dr Anna Mallia, Joseph, Connie and her husband Christopher, and Philip, her granddaughters Anna Marie and Rebecca, her siblings and their husbands and wives, and relatives, among them Suor Anselmina, Mother Superior of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Philip parish church, Żebbuġ, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Żebbuġ. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated.

MICELI. On April 3, at Mater Dei Hospital, PAUL, aged 89, of Birkirkara, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Mother Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Antonia née Testa, his children Joe and his wife Gemma, Nora and her husband Karmenu, Vincent, Cecilia and her husband Christopher, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, Pauline and her husband Alex, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2 p.m. for the Carmelite church, Fleur-de-Lys, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Archbishop's Seminary will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

ZAMMIT. ALFRED, aged 80, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital on April 3. He leaves to mourn his loss his devoted wife Mabel, née Ellul, his beloved children and spouses Nadya and Bryan Wallbank, Dr Trevor Zammit and Louann, and Dr Clive Zammit and Claudia, his grandchildren Stephanie and Malcolm, Julia and Claire, Nicholas and Nina, his sister Therese and husband Albert, his brother George in Germany, his sister Josephine and husband Tom in Canada, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement will be appreciated. The family would like to thank the doctors, the staff at Boffa Hospital and the staff of Medical Ward I at Mater Dei Hospital, as well as the Malta Hospice Movement for their care and support.
