Obituary

BASON. On June 3, at Mater Dei Hospital, HARRY of Msida, aged 90, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Marlene, Charles and Rita, John and Marthese, Antoinette and Valentino Chetcuti, Dennis and Mary Grace, Henry and Nancy, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his brother and sisters, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 7.30 a.m. for Msida parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff at the Day Care Unit, Mater Dei Hospital, for their dedication. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Mario, her mother Rose and her father Frans, her brother Paul and his wife Lolly, her sisters Ċettina, Margaret and her husband Frank, Charles and his wife Anne, Raymond and his wife Carmen, her parents-in-law, Helen and Nicholas, her sisters-in-law, Rose and her husband Albert and Anna and her husband Ronald, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for St Theresa Sanctuary, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. No flowers by request but donations to The Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be appreciated.

GATT. On June 3, JOSEPH, Colonel L/RAMC, Prof. ex-Director of Pathology, St Luke's Hospital, aged 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Liliana, née Pace Balzan, his only daughter Raffaella and her husband Sean Sciberras, his precious granddaughters Carolina and Daniela, his sisters, Sr Blanche and Sr Cora, SJA, his in-laws, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Casa Antonia, Balzan, tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Maria Annunzjata parish church, Balzan, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Power cuts

Power will be suspended for scheduled maintenance tomorrow in the following localities:

From 8.30 to 11.30 a.m. in Baħħara, Benghazi, Garden and F. Mizzi streets and Indipendenza Square and from 2.30 to 5.30 p.m. in Borg Għarib, Ċief, Firilla, Gawwi, Latini, Simirat and Benghazi streets, Għajnsielem.

From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Dun Franġisk Sciberras, Sammy Bartolo and Snajjin streets, Mellieħa.

From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Spatafora, Midra, Tursin Ir-Riħ, Tumas Chetcuti, Linja, Sikka, Ferrovija, Blanzuni, Mdina and Aruka streets, Attard.

From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Valletta, Il-Kaċċatur and L-Iskultur streets, Qormi.

Gozo ferry

The Gozo ferry service will run every 30 minutes on Tuesday morning instead of every 45 minutes. Trips will therefore take place at 6, 6.30, 7 and 7.30 a.m. from Mġarr and at 6.30, 7 and 7.30 a.m. from Ċirkewwa to cater for a predicted influx of traffic after a long-weekend.

Lecture on Islamophobia

A lecture titled Teaching Against Islamophobia will be delivered by Shirley Steinberg from the Department of Integrated Studies in Education at McGill University, Canada, on Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the University's Gateway Building, Hall E. Entrance is free.

Cultural walk

A cultural walk by Flimkien Għal Ambjent Aħjar will be held tomorrow around Senglea. Participants, who must book by sending an e-mail to bookings@faa.org.mt, should meet at Senglea gate at 2.30 p.m. The walk is free to members but costs €2 for non-members.

Talk on cactus

An illustrated talk on the turbinicarpus will be held by the Cactus and Succulent Society on Sunday at 9.45 a.m. at Din L-Art Ħelwa, 133, Melita Street, Valletta. The event is open to the public.

Rabat letter box

The letter box in Triq Antonio Nani, Għar Barka, Rabat is back in service. Service had been suspended for maintenance work.
